Who
I am and what I do...
Who I
am
I'm a native of the Washington D.C. area and first fell in love with documentary
photography during the burgeoning D.C. music scene in the early eighties.
Photographing the bands and community around the music got me hooked.
I began
to combine travel and photography in the early 1990s. In 1991, on assignment
for Senator Howard Metzenbaum of Ohio, I documented labor and environmental
abuses for the Senate hearings on N.A.F.T.A. I found the mingling of photography
and travel particularly rewarding. My wife, Roseann and I are avid travelers
and hope to pass that on to our two sons, Jasper and Marco.
I'm routinely
published in several newspapers and magazines ranging from the Washington
Post to SPIN Magazine. I also edit and publish an arts magazine called
UNo MAS. It was a print magazine for eight years but now resides
on the web.
What
I do
I'm primarily an editorial and documentary photographer. I am creative
and very easy to work with. Much of my work is done under strict deadlines.
I can turn a job around with speed and accuracy. I love to photograph
people and tell their stories through my pictures. I have won awards for
my editorial work.
My most frequent editorial assignments are entertainment, lifestyles and
environmental portraits for a variety of magazines and newspapers. They
include live concerts and portraits of writers, artists and musicians.
My corporate and commercial work ranges from covering receptions and portraiture
to annual reports, trade publications and some advertising.
